The ideal balance between fast ascent and powerful descent, the Atomic Backland 86 SL is equipped with the HRZN tip for more flotation, softness and stability.
Incredibly lightweight, highly versatile and designed for all-round ski touring, Atomic Backland 86 SL is a wider ski built with superlight SL Fiberglass, Ultra Light Woodcore construction and a Carbon Backbone to reduce overall weight for efficient uphill climbing. The result of this material combination is a ski that is super lightweight, but extremely smooth and stable on the descent. The All Mountain Rocker profile and HRZN Tech in the tip allow the ski to float in fresh snow and charge through chop and crud with less tip deflection. And the cut-out notch in the tips makes for quick transitioning of pre-fit Atomic skins.
HRZN Tech Tip :
A broad, beveled tip with 10% more surface area for floatation and decreased tip in deflection in chop.
Ultra Light Woodcore :
The poplar and Caruba woodcore create a balance of low weight and optimum performance.
Carbon backbone :
An ultra-lightweight carbon insert that runs the length of the ski like a stabilizing backbone.
SL fiberglass :
High-tensile continuous fiberglass layers for a super light, stable, yet energetic ski.
